ANDII DIAMOND'S CARIBBEAN WORKSHOPS AT YOUR SCHOOL

Culturally Saturate You

Andii has provided years of Arts & Cultural Services to her community.  Her life's mission is to keep the Jamaican culture alive.  Caribbean Workshops have been working in Schools voluntarily for over 30 Years.  An award-winning children's entertainer over many years has been based on creating an awareness of the Jamaican Culture.  Her Anansi stories and her talks to the children about life growing up in Jamaica are gripping.

She is animated and she is fun.  Her folk songs once sung play on the mind for the whole day and the children and they want to know and learn more.  She started out as an exciting new solo artist project and before its launch has attracted many partners such as Jamfolk Performing Company, Black Voices, Ridimatik, Singer Song Writer Syrona Ma'rie, Owen Brown, her journey with Black Voices and Jamfolk Performing Company.  During the Pandemic as she completes her Masters in the Musicology of Jamaican Folk and Mento Music, her lifelong career designed by herself is beginning to make waves again with a difference in the creatives/music industry.

As Lockdown eased and society returned to normal again and with strong will and determination pushed Andii's Caribbean Workshops returns to popularity.  Forward thinking and flexibility in her approach as well as her willingness to be different has gone a very long way.  This is Raw Talent and nothing more has kept this artist strong and alive than her commitment to her culture. Andii's with her Caribbean Workshops prides itself on the beautiful sounds of Jamaican and Caribbean Folk and Mento Music, Dance and Storytelling.  Andii completed her first class with Honours degree in Music Performance at University of Wolverhampton and her Masters in Music at University of West London.  All achieved during the Pandemic.

School's favourite songs are, "Dis long time Gal mi Never si yuh", the best Jamaican Welcome song ever and the story in song about the "Coconut Woman" made popular by Harry Belafonte. Miss Louise Bennett set the perfect example for her to follow.  Mento Music was born in the early 19th Century with most of it handed down verbally from generation to generation.  She wants to leave a legacy never to be forgotten.

Andii is available for Caribbean Workshops on Zoom.  Get your bookings in her diary for 2024 or call  +44 (0)7590220100 or send  a quick email: info@caribbeanworkshop.co.uk
